Rabbi, I find this disappointing for a number of reasons. Mark Twain said, "If you don't read the newspapers, you're uninformed; if you do read the newspapers, you're ill informed". Your statements are not well informed, but that is not what troubles me.

What troubles me is a religious leader who repeats memes without apparently giving them sufficient thought. A religious leader who, though perhaps well qualified in his discipline, is an influencer in areas outside his wheelhouse. Expertise transference is a well documented phenomenon, but dangerous in religion. That's because religion is faith-based. It's a subtle, but meaningful shift from "believe in God" to "believe the accuser".

I share your concern about antisemitism. I certainly can relate, especially in today's popular discourse where one can substitute "white" for "Jew". Identity politics is the first step down a dark road to intolerance, hatred and genocide. But identity politics is a child of ignorance, of "faith" if you will. I would much rather you had spoken of the need for truth (THE truth- not THEIR truth) and the fact that the world works according to God's laws (and we ignore those at our peril), than what appears as an obvious knee-jerk reaction to misinformation.

I'm extremely disappointed.
